Information for Guests with Electric Vehicles

Alison and Michael at Harbour View House fully support the development of cleaner, safer and more environmentally favourable modes of transport. We have not as yet installed an Electric Vehicle charging point, although there are plans to do so.

However, there are many such electric vehicle charging points located across the area not only in many of the Chichester District Council car parks listed below, but also in many of the local ‘Petrol Stations’, such as Birdham garage.

The nearest BP Pulse Charging Station is located one mile away in: Crouchers Hotel Address: Orchards, Birdham Rd, Chichester PO20 7EH Open 24 hours Phone: 0330 016 5126. Go to the end of Dell Quay Road. Turn right. Crouchers is ½ mile on the left-hand side.

Chichester District Council provide a combination of fast electric vehicle charging points which are located in the following car parks:

  • Bosham – Bosham Lane car park
  • Chichester – East Pallant car park
  • Chichester – Northgate car park
  • Chichester – Avenue de Chartres car park
  • Chichester – Freeland Close, Fishbourne
  • East Wittering – Northern Crescent car park

Please DO NOT charge your electric vehicle whilst staying at Harbour View House under any circumstances. We reserve the right to withhold all of your damage deposit if, you were found charging an electric car/vehicle.

It is considered a high-risk fire hazard by our insurance company and a contravention of our policy.   Should any damage occur as a result of any of our domestic plug sockets being used for EV charging our insurance is invalidated. As such it is also a breach of the  Terms and Conditions for your stay.   The lead guest should ensure that all other guests in their party are aware of this.

Heating

We are also conscious of our climate and ecological changes and would therefore be grateful if you would either turn down, or turn off the heat when you don’t need it. Also, please close the windows to conserve heat.

We apologise for mentioning something so obvious, but a very small number of previous guests have not thought to do this. One such incident led to the underfloor heating burning out!

Thank you
